HEATHER L. KIRK

Owner + Principal Designer

A Southern California native, Heather studied Business Administration at Cal State University Long Beach before completing her design education at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising/FIDM with a degree in Interior Design. After gaining experience working on a variety of residential projects, including showcase houses, she ventured out on her own and founded Kirk Riley Design in 2004.

Specializing in vintage residential renovations, Heather strives for the long life of remodeled spaces and uses color, pattern and a creative mix of materials to create award-winning designs. Color, pattern, texture, and an unexpected mix of materials are often part of the equation, and finding just the right combination makes her absolutely giddy.

When it comes to the kitchen, she loves selecting appliances. “It’s like buying small cars - shiny and full of cool features.”

Heather has designed and remodeled homes in and around Seattle, the greater Puget Sound region and Southern California. Her work has been featured in magazines, television and online, both locally and nationally.

A longtime member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Heather joined while still a design student and currently serves as President of the ASID WA State Chapter. She is also a member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA).

A self proclaimed Design Nerd, Heather's enthusiasm for design carries into her West Seattle 1940's cottage-style home where she lives with her family, including her beloved rescue mutts.

Roxann Zornick

Business Manager

The lone PNW native, Roxann brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge as the Business Manager at Kirk Riley Design. With over 15 years of experience as a project manager and apparel developer for multiple Fortune 500 companies, Roxann honed her skills in managing complex projects and driving successful outcomes. Since transitioning into operations management for small businesses, she has become adept at overseeing day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and bookkeeping.

At Kirk Riley Design, Roxann ensures that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes by combining her project management skills with a strategic approach to business operations. Her ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining a clear focus on the big picture makes her an indispensable part of the team.

When she’s not managing the business, Roxann is a proud mom to two boys and loves spending quality time with her family, whether on vacation or enjoying a BBQ at home. A dedicated vinophile, she loves exploring new vintages and sharing her favorites with family and friends.

Heather immediately understood I had a distinct design style and she always presented choices that would fit in with my taste and palette. The tiles she chose for our bathroom remodel look fresh and contemporary yet fit right in with my mid-century-aspiring-to-minimalism aesthetic. I look forward to more projects with Kirk Riley Design.
