What a Difference 365 Days Make!
WHAT A YEAR!
As I shared last fall, I had the privilege of serving as President of the ASID Washington State Chapter. Having been an ASID member since my design student days at FIDM, this was a particularly meaningful full-circle moment.
One year as President-Elect and another as President brought new friendships, fresh perspectives, and countless connections within our vibrant design community. Balancing chapter leadership with a busy design studio and our clients was quite the shuffle! I embraced the challenges of learning to delegate, juggling schedules, and stretching beyond my usual routines. Now comes the exciting part: putting those new skills to work!
AND SPEAKING OF EXCITING NEWS…
Did you catch our latest feature in 425 Magazine this month?
A colorful vintage Bellevue home refresh is featured both in print and online! With elevated selections, organic influences, and plenty of personality, this home is full of delightful details. The bold powder room has become a crowd favorite, while the dramatic dining room wallcovering certainly knows how to make a statement. We're especially proud of how this home reflects our client's personality while drawing inspiration from Bellevue's lush, scenic surroundings.
As you can see in the before photo, this room already had some pretty great bones! Sweeping views of Lake Sammamish and the surrounding landscape, soaring ceilings, and beautiful cedar detailing. What it didn't need was that beast of a wood-burning stove jutting into the room and interrupting the connection between the living room and breakfast sitting area.
In fact, we loved the original cedar ceiling so much that it inspired us to bring cedar into the dining room, a 1990s addition that was missing some of the home's original 1970s character. A little architectural continuity goes a long way!
A LITTLE HORSEPOWER ON SALMON BAY
Last week I attended the groundbreaking for Terminal One Motor + Yacht Club on Seattle's historic Salmon Bay. A sunny Seattle day, beautiful cars, and a little construction talk? Pretty much my kind of afternoon!
But all joking aside, this is a pretty exciting concept for car and yacht aficionados! Terminal One offers luxury garage condominiums that collectors can actually own and customize to store, showcase, and enjoy their prized automobiles. With a future marina in the plans, it's a whole new take on a home away from home for your collection!
I try to share our press wins when they happen, be sure to follow along on Instagram. We always have our design work in our portfolio, and we'd love for you to get in touch to start your own transformation. Thanks for following along!
Hope you had a great October! It went by in a blur. Be sure to vote if you haven't already.
Happy Halloween!
